Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Kolkata (South), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, organised a “Yuva Connect” programme at Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology with the objective of engaging youth in nation-building activities and creating awareness about the importance of a drug-free society.
The programme was graced by the presence of the Principal shri Manas Chanda , Nivideta Neogi, NSS Programme Officer, and Deputy Director, MY Bharat Kolkata (South), Smt. Kanchan Kumari. Youth Icon Ms. Shruti Pramanik addressed the participants and motivated them to adopt a positive lifestyle, stay away from substance abuse, and actively contribute towards building a developed and progressive India.
The programme commenced with the welcome of guests, lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and introductory remarks. A presentation on MY Bharat and VBYLD 2027 was delivered, followed by an engaging session by the Youth Icon on the theme **“Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.”** An awareness video highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse was also screened for the participants.
As part of the programme, Deputy Director Smt. Kanchan Kumari encouraged youth to register on the MY Bharat Portal and participate in the VBYLD Quiz. Participants were subsequently administered the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge.
The programme aimed to connect young people with opportunities offered through MY Bharat, promote social responsibility, and inspire them to become active contributors to the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
